Jammu and Kashmir: In a bid to put a check on stone pelters and arrest the real culprits, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have recently adopted a one-of-its-kind strategy of disguising police officers as stone pelters and had mixed them within the crowd.
Reportedly, the Jammu and Kashmir Police planted its officers among a mob of stone pelters at historic Jama Masjid downtown in order to nab the guilty right during the action.
It may be mentioned that after the Friday prayers in Kashmir on Friday an irate mob of stone pelters started pelting stones at police and CRPF personnel who had been deputed there for keeping law and order at the area intact.
Interestingly, little to their realization that there were police officers among them, the mob kept on pelting stones at the police forces and the CRPF jawans.
The police forces did not retaliate till the end but lastly fired a tear gas shell to disperse the mob and the policemen staged as pelters covertly arrested two notorious stone pelters and whisked them away inside the police vehicles without others noticing.
Perplexed by the development, the stone pelters ended the protest early today as they were caught unaware of the police strategy.
