Uttar Pradesh: 15-year-old girl Beaten to Death For Resisting Molestation

An inhuman incident come to light when three men allegedly beat a 15-year-old girl to death and hung her body from a tree at Mainpuri district in Uttar Pradesh. She was resisting a molestation attempt by the three men, police report said.

According to a report by News18, the Class 11 student was returning from school when the accused allegedly stopped her and forcefully dragged her to the nearby bushes. When the girl resisted their molestation attempt, she was beaten to death inhumanly by the three accused.

Mainpuri additional police superintendent OP Singh said as quoted by Hindustan Times that the girl was hung on a nearby tree using her dupatta.

He said, “The girl was returning from school along with her two friends after attending a programme organized to mark Gandhi Jayanti.”

He also said, “Three of the accused – Shivam, Mangal and Vikas – from a nearby village, were arrested.”

He informed, “The villagers gathered at the spot and the police were informed. Three of the accused, Shivam, Mangal and Vikas, from a nearby village, were arrested.”

The police also said that the girl's body has been sent for post-mortem. Nearby people discovered girl's body hanging from a tree on Tuesday afternoon.

In an identical incident, the body of a Class 8 student was found hanging from a tree in a village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh in July.

The incident again has brought shame to UP which is grappling with girl related crime like rape, molestation over the last few months. According to a report released in April by the police headquarters in Agra, 27 rape cases have been reported in Aligarh, 25 in Agra, 26 in Mathura, 19 in Firozabad, 11 in Mainpuri, 9 in Etah, 6 in Kasganj and 6 rapes have been reported in Hathras from January to April this year. These heinous crimes make UP one of the unsafe states for Women in India.
