Web Journalists detained for allegedly entering ICU cabin at Critical Care Hospital along with video camera

Guwahati: Three Guwahati based web journalists have been detained by Basistha Police for allegedly entering ICU cabin at Critical Care Hospital in Guwahati’s Lakhra along with a video camera without taking prior permission from the hospital authority.

As per reports, the web journalists have been detained for interrogation and a case has been registered in connection to the matter (Basistha Police Station Case No 1375/19).

Sources also informed that the web journalists were allegedly involved in a heated argument with the hospital staff and had threatened them after being interrupted by them.

Police reports also state that there were many similar complaints against these web journalists.

Further police investigation is on.

It is to be noted that cameras and taking photos in ICU, as well as other wards of the hospital, is restricted for many reasons. Among these are patients' privacy, confidentiality and security among others. Therefore, you need to know the ICU policy before taking photos of even your own patient.
