DEMOW, May 13: On Saturday night, a herd of wild elephants strayed into Sitaliya Gaon near Demow and created panic among the villagers and destroyed agricultural land and houses. Phulmati Pegu alias Manita Pegu died when the wild elephants were wreaking havoc in the village and she hailed from Dhakuakhana. The villagers have urged the State Forest Minister and local MLA to take immediate steps to solve their problems.
