In a sudden landslide taking place in the mining town of Itogon in the northern Philippine Benguet province, at least 33 miners were dead and 29 others are missing. The hazard took place due to typhoon-triggered landslides.

The severe outcomes and damages caused by the typhoon is that it has created heavy landslide which is enough to block the roads. The blocked roads have made it even difficult for the rescue rangers to reach the mining site and recover the injured miners.

Itogon Mayor Victorio Palangdan said, "I can't begin to accept this, but it looks like the casualties here are going to go up to at least 100."

He further informed that two bunkhouses with an estimated 100 people living inside were buried alive by mud and rubble in Ucab village of Itogon due to the Typhoon Mangkhut on Saturday.
