

Guwahati: The Comedian and content creator Samay Raina has contributed Rs 10 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support communities affected by the devastating floods in Assam.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude for the contribution in a social media post, acknowledging Raina’s generosity and highlighting the importance of public support in strengthening relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The donation comes as Assam continues to face the severe impact of the ongoing floods. As per the official figures, around 1.55 lakh people remain affected across 13 districts, while the death toll during the current flood season has risen to 98.
Thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and continue to face difficulties as rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations remain underway across the affected areas.
Chief Minister Sarma said contributions such as Raina’s can provide valuable support to people enduring hardship and displacement. He also stressed that such acts of solidarity can encourage wider public participation in relief efforts and help communities rebuild during one of Assam’s most challenging periods.
