Drunken Father kills step-son in Mariani, FIR lodged

Mariani: In a shocking incident, one drunken father killed his step-son on Thursday evening at Satai Tea Estate under Deberapara Police outpost of Mariani area in Jorhat District.

The notorious step-father of the baby boy was identified as Rajesh Majhi.

As per police a report, the deceased baby boy was just one and a half years old (18 months) when thrashed to death by his notorious drunken father. Later, his body was buried by his step-father nearby their residence.

It may be mentioned that the incident has come to light in the morning hours today after his wife couldn’t trace the whereabouts of her son. The matter got intensified and local people immediately informed the matter to the Debarapara Police.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Debarapara Police Outpost, in-charge, Bedanta Boruah said “The accused had recently married a widow who is of a different religion. She had lost her previous husband in an accident and got into an affair with accused Rajesh Majhi. Moreover, it was very recent when the couple also got married. The lady had a son with her previous husband was also staying with them.”

The I/C also informed that the accused father had killed his 18 months old step-son under the influence of alcohol and buried the body nearby his residence later.

“We have lodged an FIR in connection to the matter,” stated the Debarapara Police Outpost I/C.

Further police investigation is on.
