Guwahati: Missing College Student’s Parents Stage Hunger Strike

Guwahati: The parents of a college student who has been missing since 29^th June  staged a hunger strike on the Kumar Bhaskar Varma flyover connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati, demanding justice and a thorough investigation into their only son’s disappearance.

The missing student, Surajit Rajbongshi, is a fourth-semester student of RG Baruah College, Ulubari . He was reportedly working as a delivery executive with Blinkit to support his family financially.

As per his father’s statement , Suren Rajbongshi, Surajit’s motorcycle and helmet were found near their residence in the Segunbari-Shivanandapur area of Fatasil Ambari  after his disappearance. However, there has been no trace of the student since then.

The family approached Fatasil Police, but Suren alleged that they had not received a satisfactory response despite nearly two months passing.

As the protest began, police team from Bharalumukh Police Station reached the spot and took the parents to the police station. The protesting couple reportedly fell ill and were subsequently taken to hospital for medical attention.
