ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Opening Ceremony held, Former International Cricketers join the party !

London: One of the favourites to win the ICC Men's cricket World Cup, is all set to play their first match against South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London tomorrow.

ICC has decided to officially launch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 with an Opening Party on The Mall on Wednesday.

Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff and comedian Paddy McGuinness is hosting the ceremony and events like live sport, music and entertainment for 4,000 fans will certainly make it a lavish affair.

Many Former international cricketers of almost all 10 countries were present at the ceremony to inaugurate the tournament.

The match will begin at 3 p.m. Indian Standard Time. The Eoin Morgan led team lost their first warm-up to Australia, but made a stupendous comeback, beating Afghanistan by nine wickets at The Oval.

The Proteas, on the other hand, brushed aside Sri Lanka by 87 runs in Cardiff. However, their second match against the West Indies got abandoned due to persistent rain. South Africa last beat England at the Oval way back in 1999 under the leadership of Late Hansie Cronje.

A total of 45 matches will be played in the league stage, with each team playing a total of nine matches.

The top four teams from the group will progress to the knockout stage. The first semi-final will be played in Manchester on July 9. In this World Cup, there are Super Overs only in the semi-finals and final.

Team India, in the first phase, will be playing their nine matches in six of the 11 chosen venues.
