Incessant Rain inundates Greater Area in Pathsala Subdivision, 506 families stranded

Bajali: The Pathsala Sub-Divisional civil hospital was submerged by floodwater for which the patients are shifted to Barpeta Medical College.

Shockingly, Bhattadev University in Bajali also goes under floodwater after incessant rain in the area.

Most of the roads and residential areas are underwater due to the unprecedented flood with 506 families still stranded in flood.

Meanwhile, the SDRF and NDRF rescue teams are in operation to rescue the stranded families.

Flood Water inundating again in some districts of the state

It is to be noted that in view of the heavy rainfall till Monday, the flood water is again inundating areas of Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Baksa, Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts. As on Tuesday, a total of 2,523 numbers of villages in 68 revenue circles of 19 number of Districts viz. Dhemaji, Biswanath, Darrang, Baksa, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Cachar, are having flood waters affecting a population of 28,01,329.

Presently, 659 numbers of Relief Camps are operational in the districts of Darrang, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Golaghat, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Nagaon and Jorhat districts with 1,03, 934 inmates and 123 relief distribution centres in the districts of Darrang, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Morigaon and Golaghat.

A total of 02 numbers of persons have lost their lives due to flood in the districts of Morigaon (1) and Golaghat (1) in the last few days. In this season, the total loss of human lives has risen to 69 persons in Flood and 2 persons in a landslide.
