Indian fighter jets strike on terror camps inside PoK

Guwahati: Pakistan has got what many in India were calling for after the Pulwama attack—a tit for tat.

At least 12 Mirage 2000 multi-role fighters jets of Indian Air Force (IAF) reportedly struck inside Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the wee hours of Tuesday and reportedly dropped bombs to destroy specific targets of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror camps.

As per a media report, a group of Mirage 2000 fighters jets struck major terror camps across the LoC and completely destroyed them.

This comes days after the Pak-based terror group killed at least 50 CRPF jawans in Pulwama in Kashmir. A suicide bomber rammed inside a convoy of CRPF personnel and exploded one of the vehicles in which at least 50 personnel died.

The attacked left India shocked and angry with demand emanating from across the country to give a fitting reply to Pakistan. International agencies also stepped up pressure on Pakistan to act against the terrorist groups.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said sacrifice of the jawans would not go in vain and the security agencies would give a befitting reply.

The confirmation about India’s action came from a major general of Pakistan army.“Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzaffarabad sector. Facing timely ad effective response from Pakistan, air force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage,” Major General Asif Ghafoor of Pakistan tweeted.

IAF has not yet issued any statement but security experts told news channels that major damage was expected and use of the fighter jets was a strong message to Pakistan.
