Jain Monk Tarun Sagar Dies at the Age of 51

Jain monk Tarun Sagar is no more as the monk died on Saturday morning in Delhi. The monk, died at an age of 51 only, was well-known for his lectures titled “Kadve Pravachan”.

It is reported that the monk was suffering from jaundice and was thus, hospitalized recently. The monk, on the other hand, had refused to accept treatments for his illness a few days back. He insisted on taking him to a Jain temple in Krishna Nagar locality of East Delhi where he took his last breath. The last rites of the largely admired religious leader will be performed at Tarun Sagar Tirth on the Delhi-Meerut highway at 3 pm today.

The monk was more in the news due to a controversial speech delivered in the Haryana state Assembly. The religious leader was invited to speak in the Assembly in August 2016. In this speech, the monk had delivered his lecture in the nude along with his regular topics of speech like politics, female foeticide and religion etc.

The untimely death of the religious leader is deeply condoled by the political leaders and other noted personalities who have had come into contact with Tarun Sagar. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was “deeply pained” to hear the news of the religious leader’s untimely demise. He tweeted:
