Khetri Police Foil Lifting of Truck Laden With Tea Leaves

DIMORIA: Khetri police prevented a truck (HR46D2644) laden with tea leaves from being lifted from the Khetri area on Sunday night, but not before firing six rounds at the lifters.

According to the police, the truck was bound for Amritsar from Byrnihat. When the driver was taking meal at Jorabat, a few lifters took the truck towards Jagiroad. Soon the driver informed the incident to Sonapur police which made no delay to inform it to Khetri police.

Khetri police took the trail of the truck. Coming to know that the police on their trail, the lifters took the truck towards Durung, making the police to fire six rounds. The lifters fled the scene leaving the truck behind.
