
Courses span cricket analytics, accounting, chemistry, and more
New Delhi, August 15 – The Ministry of Education has announced the launch of five free Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses on the Swayam Portal, aiming to equip students with essential skills in this rapidly growing field.
Here’s a look at the five AI courses now open for enrolment:
1. AI/ML Using Python – A 36-hour course covering the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a focus on Python, statistics, linear algebra, and data visualisation.
2. Cricket Analytics With AI – Developed by IIT Madras, this 25-hour course teaches sports analytics through Python, using cricket as a case study.
3. AI in Physics – A 45-hour programme that uses machine learning and neural networks to address real-world physics problems through interactive sessions and lab work.
4. AI in Accounting – Tailored for commerce and management students, this course demonstrates how AI tools can revolutionise accounting practices. It includes a certification assessment.
5. AI in Chemistry – Also from IIT Madras, this 45-hour course leverages chemical datasets to model reactions, design drugs, and predict molecular properties using AI.
The initiative supports the government's Digital India and Skilling India missions, ensuring that students gain future-ready, industry-relevant skills at no cost. Each course includes a final assessment and certification, making it a valuable addition to students’ academic and professional portfolios.
