

Guwahati: An inspection visit to the ongoing LIC HFL SANGAM Project was conducted at Seswng in Thingsulthliah, Aizawl, on 19th August , showcasing the efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods and enterprise development in Mizoram.
The visit was led by Abhinav Das, CSR Regional Lead, Northeast Zone, and focused on reviewing the progress of two key enterprises under the initiative,banana chips production and GI-tagged Mizo chilli pickle manufacturing.
The enterprises are supporting local entrepreneurs, particularly women-led self-help groups, through infrastructure, training and market linkages. During the visit, Das interacted with beneficiaries, reviewed production levels and quality standards, and discussed operational challenges and future support requirements.
He also inspected the Common Facility Centre for banana chips production and discussed manufacturing processes, hygiene practices, packaging and market access with unit members.
The visit was accompanied by Chandan Borthakur, President of APRINS, and the Seswng Village Council President. The inspection highlighted the collaborative efforts of LIC Housing Finance Limited, implementation partners and local authorities to develop sustainable rural enterprises based on indigenous resources and traditional knowledge while maintaining food safety standards.
APRINS is the implementation partner for the SANGAM Livelihood Project in Mizoram.
