Modi on Rahul’s “danda” remark: I would prepare myself by practicing more surya namaskars

NEW DELHI: Addressing the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a savage dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament.

"I was speaking for 30-40 minutes now, but the current has reached there now", PM Modi said

"Some tube lights work like this,” he added.

PM Modi also made an apparent reference to a comment made by Rahul Gandhi in a meeting where he had talked about the "youth beating Modi with sticks over the unemployment.”

The Prime Minister said, "I was hearing a comment made by one of the Congress leaders that I will be beaten up with sticks within 6 months. I have been "Gaali proof" after hearing so much abuse. Now, I will do Surya Namaskar for six months and toughen myself up to bear all your sticks. I am glad that they have announced it before because now I will exercise and make myself fit for it."

While campaigning for the Delhi elections, Rahul Gandhi had said at a public meeting: "You wait and see. Narendra Modi who is giving speeches now, will not be able to get out of his home in 6-7 months. The youth of India will beat him with sticks. They will make him understand that if you don't give jobs to our youth, India cannot go forward."

Delhi poll has hit a new low. Candidates have used some really foul language to malign each other during campaigning.

BJP’s MP Manoj Tiwari had also said that foul language used by his party men against anti-CAA agitations should not have been used.

“Slogans like ‘Goli maaro’ should not be used. It is not correct. For criminals and anti-nationals the judicial system is there. But to use the opportunity and make your party worker fire shots in the air is even more condemnable,” said Tiwari told NDTV today.
