
In a major relief operation to save the people of Nagaland from the wrath of the floods, the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has rushed NDRF teams in order to carry out the relief operations there.
Union Home Minister Singh called upon the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to take stock of the damage caused by floods and landslides at several places in the state.
Rajnath Singh informed in his tweet that disaster management teams are on their way to Nagaland.
"NDRF teams are being rushed to the state by the Ministry of Home Affairs to carry out rescue and relief operations," Singh tweeted.
It may be mentioned that a day after Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to the centre for help, the central government came into swift action and assured all help. CM Rio also shared bank details of the CM Relief Fund on Twitter.

As per media reports from Nagaland, major roads, including NH-29, are cut off and there is an acute power failure resulting because of increasing level of water at the Doyang hydro-electric project.
Meanwhile, as the centre and Nagaland Government are both in constant touch in order to fight back the devasting floods in the state, President Ram Nath Kovind also tweeted in a bid to gather help from all quarters to provide relief materials to Nagaland.
"Thoughts with families, particularly children, in Nagaland that have been affected by heavy rains. Urge govt authorities, relief agencies, civil society and citizens to band together and pool efforts. The entire nation stands by our fellow citizens in Nagaland," President Kovind tweeted.
