Our Leader is Safe and Sound and has not met with any Accident: ULFA-I

Guwahati: The banned outfit United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I) in a press statement had claimed their Commander-in-Chief, Paresh Baruah is safe and sound. They further mentioned that the C-in-C has not met with any kind of accident.

The press statement also stated that the death report of ULFA-I Commander-in-Chief, Paresh Baruah filed by an online digital portal is a hoax spread out by people with vested interest.

“We, the United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent have noticed that fake news with regard to our vice chairman cum chief of staff Major General Paresh Baruah Asom Sir has been circulated in a section of the media about his so-called accident and death. We would like to clarify to our freedom loving people of Asom that our leader is safe and sound and has not met any kind of accident. This is a hoax spread by people with vested interest,” reads the press statement issued by Romel Asom, member, Publicity department, ULFA-I today.

It may be mentioned that according to a report in the online news magazine, lookeast.in, Intelligence agencies have earlier picked up ‘inputs’ about Paresh Baruah sustaining severe injuries in a road accident along China-Myanmar border.

The report further stated the Intelligence agencies ‘were trying’ to confirm the ‘inputs’.

The online report also stated that ULFA-I, C-in-C, Barua is said to have fractured several ribs and a leg in the road accident. But the exact spot of the accident is not known but is said to be around Ruili on the China–Myanmar border.

It may further be mentioned that the online media lookeast.in also quoted a top intelligence officer who also confirmed that C-in-C has sustained severe injuries after an accident in the border area of China-Myanmar, but they are yet to ascertain whether the C-in-C is dead or alive.
