
New Delhi: Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman reaches Wagah border on the Pakistani side a few minutes back.
Securities have been tightened up at the Wagah border and senior officials reach the spot to receive the IAF Wing Commander.
A medical check-up is also underway and will be handed over to India right after the check-up. Varthaman will have a further check-up in New Delhi.
IAF Wing Commander was in Pakistan custody since Wednesday and Pakistan has released the commander today after India demands to return him immediately and safely.
The Indians awaits the return of their hero at the Wagah border. IAF and Army convoy awaits in the border.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Friday as a peace gesture.
The Pakistan Prime Minister had announced the release of the IAF Wing Commander in his address to the joint session of Pakistani Parliament.
Abhinandan is in Pakistan custody since Wednesday morning when he landed on the other side of the Line of Control after his aircraft fell down during an aerial dogfight between India and Pakistan.
Imran Khan during the joint session of Pakistani Parliament said that he is ready to have a dialogue with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he tried to speak to the Indian Prime Minister as he wants to de-escalate prevailing tension between the two countries.
Furthermore, Pakistan PM Imran Khan said, “I appeal to India and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to escalate the situation further and that it would not be in favour of either India or Pakistan given the kind of weapons the two countries have.”
