Apple’s latest iOS 12 update proves iPhone users are way behind Android

Apple’s latest iOS 12 updates is finally available for use. Apple’s new software comes with a multitude of new features that are expected to make iOS experience a lot better. But from a broad point of view iOS, 12 is way behind Google’s Android iteration, as some of the new iPhone features have been around for a much longer time.

One of the prime reasons why iOS has fallen behind is Apple’s late realization of the necessity of opening the platform to third-party apps. Since the iOS ecosystem had undergone major change in 2016 with the launch of iOS 10 Apple has been struggling to make iOS like Android, but it hasn't got success yet.

Although Apple once had advantage over Google OS with its securely controlled ecosystem over the years Android has emerged as more receptive and powerful. But in terms of exclusive features, Apple’s system is getting smaller and smaller in comparison to Android.

Some of the reasons why Android is better than iOS 12 are-

Notifications

After Google launched Android version 7.0 Nougat in 2016 Android updates have made the notifications only superior Third-party apps like WhatsApp are also supporting Android’s platform to deliver more interactive notifications.

For iPhone users, iOS 11’s notification panel has turned out to be a weird experience. Apple iOS 12 is unquestionably a fix but not new in terms of feature.

Photos

Google Photos is a cross-platform application which means one can use it on iPhone or an Android phone combined with one's Google account, so it is much easier to access. Besides, Google provides 15GB of storage for free whereas Apple offers just 5GB of iCloud storage free.

Regarding algorithm-driven features, Google Photos is more superior and offers keyword search, smarter suggestions, sharing with friends and many more. On the other hand, iPhone users will start using smarter algorithm-based features.

Autofill OTPs

Google while doing SMS-based verifications automatically detects OTPs from a text message and involuntarily fills up the form to make the transaction/authentication process smarter and smoother. But in iPhone, they have been just introduced to this feature which works slightly unusual as it doesn’t let the third-party apps to read your text messages. Even though Apple’s this feature ensures safety and privacy of the user but the company hasn’t found a

more a simpler solution.
