Closing Bell: Sensex Ends Up 383 pts, Nifty Ends Above 18,250; Tata Steel Shines

New Delhi: The sensex on Tuesday, led by gains in metal stocks, auto and realty closed higher for the second straight day.

It closed with 383.21 points, or 0.63 percent, higher at 61350.26, while Nifty was up 143 points or 0.79 percent at 18268.40.

The Tata Steel was the top gainer, while Kotak Mahindra Bank and Reliance Industries witnessed gain on the sensex too.

On Nifty, JSW Steel, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Steel, Titan Company and Tata Motors were the top gainers, while the shares of banks like ICICI and IndusInd fell. The shares of NTPC, HUL and Power Grid Corp too fell.

11 nifty stocks fell while 39 stocks gained.

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Small Cap was up by more than 2 percent and Mid Cap rose 1.7 percent. ll sectoral indices ended higher with metal, realty, Oil &gas and auto up 1-3 percent.

Meanwhile, stocks like TCI Express, HG Infra Engg, Bharat Agri Fert, Aptech and Jindal Stainles, hit their fresh 52-week high, while ThirdwaveFinIntrm, SBL Infratech Ltd, , Dhruv Wellness, Palm Jewels and Kapil Raj Finance touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
