New Delhi: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has left behind Mukesh Ambani and became the richest man in Asia once again, said a report by Bloomberg.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani is the tenth richest person in the world as his net worth is $ 88.5 billion, while Mukesh Ambani has now slipped to the 11th position.

So far this year, Gautam Adani's wealth has increased by $12 billion, while Mukesh Ambani has lost $2 billion during this period. According to the Billionaires Index, Gautam Adani's wealth has jumped the most in the world's top 500 billionaires.

With this figure, Mukesh Ambani is currently the second richest person in India as well as Asia and is the eleventh richest person of the world. As of February 8, Ambani's total net worth is $87.9 billion.

Notably, in last year November, Mukesh Ambani was ranked the wealthiest person in India and Asia, and Gautam Adani was trailing him by about $2.2 billion.

In the last one year, Reliance Industries share price has jumped by about 18.50 percent and it is trading at Rs 2,312.75 a share as of Tuesday morning. On the other hand, Adani Enterprises Ltd has soared over 170 per cent in last one year and was trading at Rs 1,741 on Tuesday morning.

Recently, the Forbes Real-Time Billionaire index, too had said that India's leading businessman and chairperson of the Adani Group, Gautam Adani has now become the richest man in Asia.

It is noteworthy that Ambani was the richest person in India for the last 14 years. In 2015, Sun Pharma's boss Dilip Shangvi became India's richest person for a short period, but then Ambani returned to the first place again.
