New Delhi: India's Savitri Jindal has now surpassed China's Yang Huiyan to become the new richest woman in Asia.

For the past five years, Huiyan was holding the title of richest woman in Asia. She controls China's largest real estate developer company. However, reportedly, the impact of the government's crackdown on real estate companies in China has brought her wealth down.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Huiyan's wealth has fallen from about $24 billion last year to $11 billion.

On the other hand, Savitri Jindal, the head of the Jindal Group, has a net worth of $11.3 billion. The 72-year-old is also the only woman in the top 10 of Forbes' list of richest Indians in 2021.

According to Forbes, she is considered as the richest Indian woman for the past few years followed by Kiran Mazumdar and Krishna Godrej in the list of India's richest women.

In the year 2005, Om Prakash Jindal, husband of Savitri Jindal and founder of Jindal Group, died. After this Savitri Jindal took over the business and extended it.

Savitri Devi was born in 1950 in Tinsukia, Assam. In 1970, she married Omprakash Jindal of Haryana, the founder of Jindal Group. Jindal Group engaged in steel manufacturing and in many other sectors.

As per reports, OP Jindal and Savitri have nine children of which four are sons namely Prithviraj Jindal, Sajjan, Ratan and Naveen.

The eldest son Prithviraj is the chairman of Jindal Saw Company while the second son Sajjan Jindal has taken over the command of JWS company.

The third son Ratan is on the post of director in the company and the youngest son of the family Naveen Jindal is the chairman of 'Jindal Steel'. He has also been an MP.
