MG Hector Achieves 2019 Sales Target In 20 Days of Launch, Bookings Closed

MG Motor made its much-anticipated passage into the Indian market a month ago with the dispatch of its medium-size SUV MG Hector. After 20 days of its launch, the company has said it won't be accepting any booking for the SUV MG Hector any longer. The company says it has the creation limit of only 2,000 units every month and has effectively gotten more than 21,000 bookings.

In a press proclamation, MG Motor India stated, "Subsequent to getting a staggering reaction for the Hector, we have taken a decision to end the bookings temporarily, remembering the company’s commitment to ensure client satisfaction."

"Our first product, MG Hector, has received a mind-boggling reaction and we can't oblige such high starting demand. We are, along these lines, shutting booking temporarily as this will help ensure auspicious and efficient conveyances for our clients who have shown enormous trust in MG. We are likewise working with our segment providers to increase production in a steady way with no trade-off on quality," said Rajeev Chaba, President, and MD, MG Motor India.

MG India says it plans to cater to the increasing demand by raising the production limit with respect to the Hector at its Halol producing facility to 3,000 units for each month by October this year. The best two variations - Smart and Sharp - have registered the highest demand, with over half bookings for the petrol variations, it added.

MG Hector was launched on 27th June and is being promoted as India's first internet car. MG Hector is accessible in 11 variations with five colour alternatives. The two petroleum manual transmission variations are evaluated at Rs 12.18 lakh and Rs 12.98 lakh while the petrol engine with crossbreed option with manual transmission is offered in three variations estimated at Rs 13.58 lakh to Rs 15.88 lakh. There are additionally two variations with double-clutch automatic transmission option with the petrol engine evaluated at Rs 15.28 lakh and Rs 16.78 lakh. The four diesel variations offered distinctly in a manual transmission is valued at Rs 13.18-16.88 lakh.
