Reliance Announces To Launch Jio 5G Services In Metros By Diwali This Year

New Delhi: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Monday said that the company 5G services in India by Diwali this year.

While addressing a gathering during the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Ambani said, the company will invest 2 lakh crore to roll out 5G services in India.

"By Diwali, we will launch Jio5G across multiple key cities. By Dec'23, we will deliver 5G to every town of India," he added.

He also announced a partnership with American multinational corporation Qualcomm.

Notably, the number of customers of Reliance Jio has exceeded 42.1 crore and customers of Jio are using an average of 20 GB of data every month, which has doubled compared to last year.

Ambani also said that Jio's 5G will prove to be a true 5G and the coverage of Jio 5G will be great as well as it will be the most affordable in providing 5G service.

Speaking on the occasion, Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani announced that the Jio Experience Center will open in the country's financial capital Mumbai.

''With the help of 5G, Jio Air Fiber will change the entire video and gaming experience and take it to the next level,'' he added.

During the AGM, Ambani said that Jio 5G will be the world's largest 5G network and initially 5G service will be provided in 5 cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata till Diwali. After this, 5G service will be delivered across the country by December 2023.

''Reliance Jio is No.1 digital service provider in the country and now 2 out of every 3 households use Jio Fiber,'' Mukesh Ambani claimed.

He also said that Reliance Industries is the biggest taxpayer of India and Reliance Industries has given 2.32 lakh jobs in the last which shows that the country's development has contributed.
