Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal To Get $42 Million If Sacked After Elon Musk Takeover: Report

New Delhi: As Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion, people are speculating that there will be some changes in the management of the micro-blogging site company.

Amid these speculations, there is another development that has come to the fore. As per research firm Equilar, Twitter Inc CEO Parag Agrawal would get an estimated $42 million if he were terminated within 12 months of a change in control at the company.

According to a Reuters report, Musk in a securities filing on April 14 had said that he didn't have confidence in Twitter's management which raised many questions in people's minds, and hence they started speculating about changes.

Research firm Equilar's estimate includes a year's worth of Agrawal's base salary plus accelerated vesting of all equity awards, an Equilar spokesperson said based on Musk's offering price of $54.20 per share and terms in the company's recent proxy statement.

Meanwhile, reports also claimed ever since the Agrawal took over from Jack Dorsey in November 2021, the company wasn't making much profit.

Agrawal had earlier informed that the Tesla CEO had decided ''not to join our board which I believe is for the best''.

However, the Twitter buyout casts doubts on the future of Agrawal, and it is still unclear whether he would like to remain at the helm, with Musk now being at the very top of the platform.
