Chennai: The Indian tyre market sees a spurt in imports from Thailand after the imposition of counter veiling duty (CVD) on tyres from China, said a senior official of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA). He also said that with political uncertainty now over after the Lok Sabha elections, the government should now focus on taking the economy on the growth path. The industry also expected demand picking up for farm sector vehicles like tractors owing to good monsoon. But it did not happen. (IANS)
