Called as “Vistara Freedom Fares”, the initiative is an attempt by Vistara to induce its flight experience more passenger-centric. It also enables customers to book fares without frills, and containing complimentary meal onboard.

The release further said that While ‘Economy Lite’ customers would continue to earn Club Vistara points, they would not earn elite-qualification ‘tier points’ as well as ‘Economy Lite’ fares are not upgradeable, non-changeable and non-refundable (though taxes are always fully refundable).

The airlines introduced firstly premium economy and economy seats and now, as the lines between premium and low-cost are even more thinned , it comes up the optional low-fare no-frills experience onboard its aircraft.

Sanjiv Kapoor, Vistara’s chief strategy and the commercial office said, “We believe there is a segment of customers which we were not addressing, customers who do not care about free meals. We want to provide them the service in a cost-efficient manner,”
