Circle Officer of Hailakandi Tridip Roy reaches out to kin of deceased journalist

HAILAKANDI: Circle Officer of Hailakandi, Tridip Roy provided assistance for Rs 3,000 to the family members of a journalist who died in harness.

Circle Officer Roy moved by the plight of the family members of late journalist Sanjib Chandra, went to his residence on Saturday and handed over the amount which he contributed from his own savings.

"Today I got to know from an ex ward commissioner of the area that they are finding it difficult to make their ends meet during the lockdown period. A very active journalist, Sanjib Chandra was personally known to me.

"I decided to help them out in their hour of distress and thus went to his residence with media fraternity and handed over an amount of Rs 3,000 from my personal savings which I told her to spend for well being of her children," he said.

Former ward commissioner Anu Nath Gogoi also donated Rs 1,000 to the wife of the late journalist.
