Fogging operations for acute encephalitis syndrome (AES), Japanese Encephalitis (JE) begin

HAILAKAND: Fogging operations have begun in Hailakandi municipal areas in view of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE).

Disclosing the information, Chief Medical and Health Officer (Communicable Diseases), Dr. Ramesh Chandra Dwivedy said the fogging operations under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme would be carried in all the 16 wards under the Hailakandi Municipal Board from May 2 to 19.

Dr.Dwivedy urged the residents of Hailakandi municipal areas to keep their doors, windows, ventilators and other air passages of their homes closed and to cover the food commodities during the fogging operation. He said the fogging operations fixed for each ward on a particular day may change due to vagaries of weather.
