Mild earthquake recorded at Barak Valley in Silchar

Silchar: A mild earthquake which lasted for a few seconds rocked Barak Valley last night at around 10.46 pm.

The earthquake measuring 5.5 in the Richter Scale is reported to have its epicenter in the district of Champai in Mizoram in the Indo-Myanmar border region.

The geographical location of the earthquake was at Latitude of 23.99 degrees North and Longitude of 93.3 degrees East and it originated at a depth of 24 km from the surface level. This information was shared by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Cachar.
