Two youths die in a tragic highway mishap while riding on motorbike

Silchar: In a tragic highway mishap last past midnight, two youths identified as Nazul Hussain Barbhuiya (28) and Suraj Singha (19) who were riding on motorbike and returning back to their native village of Chandrapur under Banskandi police station after attending a social function met with a fatal accident. According to information, their motor bike moving on NH 37 was hit by a tripper near the abandoned DLF power project, close to Banskandi. The head-on collision was so deep that both the riders were thrown off their seats and badly injured.

While Nazrul died on the spot, Suraj after being rescued by the police was being taken to SMCH who succumbed to his injuries on the way. Though police team Banskandi after receiving information reached the spot, the vehicle most probably a tripper could not be traced out. Banskandi police in coordination with Lakhipur police is looking for the killer vehicle on the basis of inputs of the local residents. The dead bodies of both the youths were handed over to their family members after post mortem.
