Agartala: At least nine MLAs and one minister from both ruling BJP and opposition parties came under attack in Tripura from July 06, 2018 to July 05, 2021.

The reply was given by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb during the assembly session.

The question was raised by opposition CPIM MLA Moboshar Ali.

During answering the question, CM Deb has said that three BJP MLAs, Five CPIM MLAs and one MLA and Minister of BJP's alliance partner IPFT came under attack in different parts of the state by unknown miscreants.

He also informed that 20 cases were registered and 36 persons were arrested so far.

CM Deb said that five cases were registered after CPIM MLA Ratan Bhowmik came under attack while six cases were registered for attacking CPIM MLA Badal Chowdhury who is the deputy leader of opposition.

He also informed that one each cases was registered against the attack on CPIM MLA Bhanu Lal Saha and Narayan Chandra Chowdhury.

He informed that BJP MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma faced attack and three cases were registered. BJP MLA Burba Mohan Tripura faced an attack and a case was registered with Karbook police station under Gomati district against five persons while all were arrested. BJP MLA Rampada Jamatia along with other leaders faced an attack and registered a case with Taidu police station under Gomati district against 15 persons while five were arrested so far.

A case was filed for attacking CPIM MLA Sudhan Das faced another attack and case filed with PR Bari police station under South Tripura district against 23 persons and none was arrested so far.

In case of BJP's allied partner IPFT, MLA Dhirendra Debbarma and minister NC Debbarma faced separate attacks and two separate cases was filed against the attacks.
