Agartala: Another four cadres of banned insurgent group NLFT of Tripura has surrendered before the police on Friday.

In a press release, Tripura police said that it is yet another remarkable achievement for Tripura Police. Due to all-pervasive efforts of State Police, remaining fraction of NLFT is further finding it difficult to exist. As a result, we are able to go ahead further with our aim of making Tripura an insurgency-free state.

It is to inform that four NLFT (PD group) extremists identified as Doberam Reang (47) of Chandra Kumar Para under Khedacherra of North district, Sailendra Reang (22) of Bhandarima under North district, Samprai Debbarma (46) of Sandhiram Thakur Para under Mandai of West District and Subhalal Tripura (22) of Sajekgaireng Para, of Dhumacherra, under Dhalai District.

They fled away from Jupui NLFT (PD) Camp under Bagaichari police station under Rangamati district of Bangladesh andsurrendered to special branch organization on October 01.

During the surrender, they have deposited one Revolver (US-made), one Factory-made gun, one Chinese grenade, four Bullet, 3 pieces of NLFT collection receipt, and 800 BangladeshiTaka.

During preliminary interrogation, it has been revealed that they joined NLFT (PD) Organization in the year 2019 in Bangladesh NLFT Camp with other extremists. During field experiences of these extremist cadres, they realized their so called fight for the independence of Tripura is totally farse. Remaining on ground, they have realised that there is no future prospect in this path of violence. On the other hand presently NLFT (PD) group is facing serious financial organizational crisis Feeling frustrated with the present predicament of NLFT organization and continuous pressure/motivation of Tripura Police, have made them leave the path of insurgency.
