Assam: 6 kg ivory seized, two arrested, wildlife offence case registered

Guwahati: A joint operation by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and Loharghat Forest Range under Kamrup West Divisional Forest on July 7 led to the seizure of 6 kg ivory (9 pieces), besides the arrest of two persons - Darishan Nonrum of and Edison Nongtri, both hailing from Meghalaya.

The team handed over the seized articles and the two arrested persons to Loharghat Forest Range for registering a wildlife offence case.
