GUWAHATI: As many as 1,53,326 samples were tested till June 7, said the COVID Media Bulletin of the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, Government of Assam.

The bulletin stated that 64,165 passengers were screened at the Airport and 5,80,178 persons were screened at different places in Assam.

The break-up of the 1,53,326 tests conducted in the State is - 2 samples were sent to NIV Pune for testing and result came negative. 34,202 samples were sent to Virological Lab Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), and out of them 518 were found positive for COVID-19 and 29,589 were negative. 15,483 samples were sent to Regional Medical Research Centre, Lahowal in Dibrugarh and out of them, 373 were found positive and 15,110 were negative. 16,808 samples were sent to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, out of them 491 were found positive and 16,317 were negative. 13,930 samples were sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital and out of them 316 were found positive and 13,614 were negative. 31,394 samples were sent to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, Barpeta and out of them 179 were found positive and 28,442 were negative. 15,986 samples were sent to TMCH Sonitpur and out of them 204 were found positive and 15782 were negative. 8,447 samples were sent to AMCH Dibrugarh and out of them, 127 were found positive and 7,565 were negative. 16,182 samples were sent to Outsource Lab and out ofhem, 357 were found COVID-19 positive and 15,771 were negative.

The total number of isolation beds identified in the State till the aforementioned date is around 3,338 for treating critically ill patients in DH/MCH/Private Hospital.

The bulletin added that the H&FW Department with the help of district administration have identified Mass Quarantine facilities across the State for keeping approximately 27,197 persons, who are asymptomatic but suspected.

There are 595 ICU beds and 398 ventilators available in government and private hospitals.
