2 more COVID Care Centres in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: Two more COVID care centres are under construction in Guwahati. One is at Nehru Stadium and the other has been constructed at SrimantaShankardevaKalashetra.

The 850-bed COVID Care Centre at Nehru Stadium has been constructed to treat the COVID-19 positive patients. The Health department is ready to treat 10,000 patients. Meanwhile, 181 beds have been kept ready at the COVID Care Centre Kalashetra.

The special initiative of constructing these two new COVID care centres has been taken in view of the rising number of COVID-19 positive cases in the city. It is to be mentioned here that the carelessness of a few sections of people has become a matter of concern as this may worsen the situation in the State.

The government announced a few exemptions to lockdown norms. However, many seemed roaming the city without any emergency. This apart, people's ignorance towards wearing face mask and maintaining social distance poses a threat to the city dwellers.
