200 Nitrazepam tablets seized; one held at Saraighat

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Jalukbari outpost conducted naka at Saraighat on Monday night. As per information, one Honda SP 125 motorcycle bearing number AS 25 V 2700 was checked and the police team found 48 RTx (Codine Phosphate) bottles and 200 tablets of Nitrazepam (suspected to be Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance) from a white-coloured bag.

The bag was in possession of Abdul Mannan (29), resident of Hajo in Kamrup district. Accordingly the suspected NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance) along with the motorcycle were seized and Abdul Mannan was arrested.
