A team of Khanapara forest office seizes Illegal timber transporting from Meghalaya

GUWAHATI: With the continued pursuance of the tracking the illegal timber trade, a team of Khanapara forest office led by beat-officer Prahlad Gayan, seized a non-sal sawn timber carrying vehicle (AS 01Q 8082) on Friday evening. The vehicle was reportedly transporting timber from Meghalaya and was making its way towards the city. As per sources, there has been a flourish in the illegal timber business and the trade is often carried out from the Meghalaya area.
