A woman was stabbed by her husband at a stationery shop in Noonmati

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a woman was stabbed by her husband at a stationery shop in the Noonmati area recently. According to reports, the victim – Beauty Begum was shopping in the shop when her husband Pobitra Roy stabbed her with a knife. Roy tried to flee the spot but the local people nabbed him and handed him over to the police. The victim was rushed to the GATE Hospital in Narengi and was later transferred to the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital). However, her condition is currently stable and has been discharged from the hospital. In this regard, an FIR has been lodged at the Noonmati Police Station with case (no. 495/20) and the further investigation is on.
