AALA Plea to Gauhati High Court for anti-corona measures in lower Courts

Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Lawyers’ Association (AALA) has welcomed the measures taken by the Gauhati High Court for preventing coronavirus from spreading in all the High Court buildings in the Principal seat in Guwahati as well as in its outlaying Benches at Kohima, Aizawl and Itanagar. In a press release issued on Monday, AALA president David Ledger and general secretary Dipak Kumar Das have expressed concern over the High Court not issuing any such preventive measures for the district and magistrate-level courts of the State. They have said that the attendance is always high in lower courts. They have appealed to the High Court for similar and timely measures for the interests of the judges, advocates, staff members and the public in lower courts.
