Guwahati: The Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Connectivity Summit has marked a historic milestone for Assam, securing investments worth Rs 4.91 lakh crore across multiple sectors. Organized on February 25 and February 26 at the Assam Veterinary College grounds in Khanapara, Guwahati, the summit witnessed participation from national and international investors, further solidifying Assam’s position as a key economic and trade hub.

BJP Assam State President Dilip Saikia described the three-day event as a turning point for the state, stating that it has “opened the door to immense possibilities for a bright future.” The summit, hosted under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, garnered support from leading corporate houses, policymakers, and global investors.

The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who emphasized Assam’s growing role in India’s economic landscape. “A for Assam will one day be known to the world,” he remarked, underscoring the state’s potential as a major investment destination.

Several corporate giants, including Tata, Adani, Reliance, JSW, SR, Vedanta, and Global Health Limited, pledged investments across various sectors. The event also saw participation from representatives of 75 countries, heads of missions from 67 nations, and delegates from nine allied nations, highlighting the global interest in Assam’s economic prospects.

State BJP spokesperson Suranjan Dutta, in a press statement, expressed gratitude to all investors, policymakers, and officials involved in making the summit a landmark success. With Advantage Assam 2.0, the state has set the stage for unprecedented industrial growth, improved connectivity, and long-term economic prosperity.
