AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam’s comments are not on the party’s behalf’: General Secretary

GUWAHATI: Reacting over the arrest of AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) Dhing MLA Aminul Islam, the body’s general secretary Aminul Islam stated that the controversial comments regarding COVID-19 made by the MLA are not on the party’s behalf. The general secretary said that the comments from the MLA are based on his own personal beliefs.

Islam said that the whole country needs to fight against coronavirus unitedly and MLA Islam’s comments were not necessary. Further, the general secretary said that prior to Islam’s comments, various MPs and MLAs have made similar statements but no legal actions were taken. “We expect the law to take action against those leaders too”, he asserted.
