GUWAHATI: A new state committee of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has been formed with a total of 21 members. Addressing a press meet at Dispur Press Club on Wednesday the president of the new committee Renu Mahanta said that the main objective of the newly formed committee will be settling down the deprived Hindus with a normal life.
She said, “The Assam State committee of Hindu Mahasabha was formed on February 23. We will focus on the problem of the Hindus suffering in different parts of the country. We also want to include the Hindus, who have converted themselve to some other religion with the course of time.”
She further said that even though the name Hindu Mahasabha is strictly connected to the word Hindu, its main aim is to include Assam with India. She added that the committee is determined to work in way that the name and golden history of Assam will be engraved in the history of India.
The working president of the committee Anup Kumar Talukdar said that Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha is never against the Muslims. It will accept every indigenous Muslim and those who got converted to Muslim religion in the course of time, as brothers.
The newly formed committee stated that the issue of CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) is an emotion of the Assamese community. It mentioned that the national leadership is working on finding a solution by discussing the matter with the Central government.
