All Assam Terminated SSA Engineers Association demand appointment

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Terminated SSA Engineers (TRP & WSTP) Association has demanded the appointment of terminated TRPs (Technical Resource Persons) and WSTPs (Worksite Technical Persons) in any government department.

Addressing the media, president of the Association Saif Uddin Khan said, "The TRPs and the WSTPs have been working from 2006 and 2011 respectively. By diverting our salaries, the government provided salaries to the TET teachers and terminated us. In the last four years, we met the State Finance Minister, and the SSA Director. However, nothing came to fruition."

Highlighting their plight, the workers submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister on February 10.

"Out of 249 terminated SSA engineers (TRP&WSTP), 60 of us are left without unemployment where most of us are overage. Many of us are in a very emotional stage due to very poor family condition. Therefore we request you to consider our matter as a special case on the ground of sympathy to re-engage us in any engineering department," the memorandum stated.
