All India Trade Union Congress observes Labour Day across Assam

GUWAHATI: The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Assam State Committee observed the Labour Day at various places across the State, on Friday. At the AITUC office in Guwahati Club, president Munin Mahanta hoisted the flag and vice president Sakreswar Kalita paid tribute. The programme was observed by following the Government's health advisory and the body expressed grief for the people who have lost their life due to COVID-19. Further, it demanded the government to help the stranded labourers and provide assistance to them.

Meanwhile, various other labourer groups under AITUC also observed the day. Petroleum Mazdoor Organization celebrated the day at Betkuchi and Noonmati. The cart pullers and Harijan Mazdoor Union held programmes at Fancy Bazar and Fatasil Ambari respectively.
