GUWAHATI: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has stated that the Union Budget 2021-22 has 'disappointed' the nation, Assam, Minorities, and weaker sections of people of the country.

"It was expected that Finance Minister would offer some solid plan to bring the country's economy on right path and will give relief to the common people of the country but unfortunately she failed to do so. She tried to present 'old wine in new bottle' and repeated the same tall promises as in previous budget," stated AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal.

He pointed out that the budget allocation for DoNER Ministry in 2020 budget was Rs 3,048 crore but in 2021 budget the allocation for DoNER is only Rs 2,658 crore. "The budget failed to give financial package to flood-affected persons of Assam. It also failed to provide funds for revival of Cachar and Nagaon paper mills, industrial development for North East specially Assam, and for strengthening railway connectivity in Assam," said Ajmal.
