
GUWAHATI: The DC has issued certain directives to the Bhanadra (groups that provide food to the devotees) ahead of Ambubachi Mela, starting from June 22 till 26.
The DC has directed all interested parties/ Bhandara that no temporary stalls will be allowed along the road to Kamakhya temple from Bharalamukh and from Kamakhya Gate to Maligaon, as the spot will be decided by the DC. All food prepared will be strictly monitored by the Food Safety Department, as such, every Bhandara should maintain utmost hygiene and sanitation.
Drinking water must be ISI/BIS marked and in sealed condition. The floor of the kitchen and dining room should be cleaned and dried twice a day, while food should be served uniformly at the same time by all Bhandaras.
The recommended food items include vegetables like potol, squash, gourd, ladies finger, jika, beans, along with soya beans, whole gram, moongdal, green chillies and paneer. Use of blended oil, chilli powder, dry chillies, pumpkin and serving of khidchri and curd by the Bhandaras are restriced.
