Another arrested by CID in a Pre-Matric Scholarship Fund scam

GUWAHATI: Another person in connection to the 'Pre-Matric Scholarship Fund' case was arrested by the CID (Crime Investigation Department) sleuths on Wednesday.

A team of CID officers with the help of local police arrested the accused Jahangir Alam from Tapar Pathar village under Chaygaon Police Station. Alam is an owner of Customer Service Point (CSP) of Bank of Baroda, Chaygaon branch.

He had facilitated the fraudulent withdrawal of pre-matric scholarships amount meant for a large number of students of different schools of Goalpara district through his CSP.

Till date a total of 27 persons have another person in connection to the 'Pre-Matric Scholarship Fund' case was arrested by the CID (Crime Investigation Department) sleuths on Wednesday.e been arrested in this case (20/2020 U/S 120(B)/406/409/419/420/468/471 IPC) which has been registered at the CID Police Station.
