GUWAHATI: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that the voters of Assam and West Bengal will give a befitting reply to the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in the ongoing Assembly polls in both the States.

Talking to the media at Rajiv Bhawan here on Wednesday, Gehlot said, "Assembly elections are being held in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, West Bengal and Assam. It is certain that the BJP isn't going to win in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerela. Thus, it has been campaigning on a war-footing in Assam and West Bengal. However, they won't succeed as the voters have understood their tactics."

Saying that toppling governments through horse-trading is the hallmark of the BJP, Gehlot said, "The BJP has no faith in democracy. The saffron party forms governments in States where it has no majority. The nation has witnessed what happened in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

"Under the leadership of late Tarun Gogoi, peace was restored in Assam along with rapid development." Gehlot asserted that the Congress-led 'Mahajoot' will form the next governments in Assam and West Bengal.
